Configuring your modem to connect to
Optraweb Internet Solutions
Windows
98 comes with all the software necessary to connect your computer
to the internet, in the form of Dial-Up Networking. There are
several steps involved to get Dial-Up Networking to connect to
Optraweb Internet Solutions.
You
will need to obtain a username and password from us prior to running
the Connection Wizard.
Once you have this information, simply follow the Wizard, using
the information outlined below.
To start the Wizard click Start, Programs, Internet Explorer -
Internet Connection Wizard
- Choose
the top option "Select this option if you are accessing
the Internet using an Internet service provider or a local area
network (LAN)".
- Click
the Next button
- Select
the top option "Connect using my phone line".
- Click
the Next button
- At
this stage you may be prompted to install a modem if you do
not have a modem driver installed for Windows 98.
- Click
the OK button to start installing the required files.
You will be prompted to insert your Windows 98 CD.
Type
the username and password Optraweb Internet Solutions have supplied
you.
Choose
the bottom option "No" for "Advanced Settings"
Type
in Optraweb Internet Solutions for the "Connection name"
for your Optraweb Internet Solutions connection
Click
the "Finish" button.
Click
the "Yes" button to restart your computer
